Retiring chairman Brenda Hanley of Shalford Parish Council decided that some form of a newsletter was needed for Shalford back in 2003. With her friend Jo Cox as the interviewer they started to visit members of the community in their homes for stories of their lives.
Richard Clubley from Wethersfield offered to construct a document using QuarkXPress software to produce a four-page A4 to be produced quarterly free of charge to every household within Shalford village, thus ShalfordNews was born.
It was at a later date with the arrival of local Internet, documents converted to the PDF format which are displayed below.
2008 Shalford Parish Church of St Andrew’s started a monthly magazine, which cancelled the previous quarterly addition.

Wethersfield only started to produce their own newsletters in 2007 in the same format as Shalford, i.e four page quarterly.
Due to lack of material for publishing, the idea ceased after announcement of proposal for a new Pavilion
