Village Hall Lottery Grant

Good News in this past week in that an application to ‘National Lottery Awards for All scheme’ has achieved grant of £6,900, for replacement double glazed village hall windows including the dormers in roof (which have been covered since the suspended ceiling was installed in the late 1960’s).The windows will be modern double glazed units but in the sash style of the original windows installed in 1925

Applying for Lottery Grants is a long drawn out process, which are not always successful

Notification of grant has come just in time as scaffolding is currently in place for the replacement roof, which hopefully windows fitters will use to install the new dormer windows

Our village hall renovations have been a project running for the past three years, with a number of grants being obtained by our chairman Colin Golding. Grants never cover the full cost of a project and the balance from village fund raising and the yearly grant of£4,000 from Shalford Parish Council
