Shalford Parish Council

Shalford Parish Council has been quietly working in the background these past few months during the COVID19 LockDown using the popular ZOOM to conduct our monthly meeting, unfortunately closed to the public as we have no means of broadcasting live via YouTube. Draft minutes are normally available within a few days of any meeting on the Home Page of this website. This may be the way of the future, please beware that if you have any concerns make contact direct with our Parish Clerk.

Annual Parish Meeting – Without LockDown April would have been the month for the Annual Parish Meeting where residents are invited to meet councillors and speakers who would provide a local subject of interest, together with financial accounts and chairman’s report which is included in the Annual Report which would have been delivered to every householder in the village.
Final accounts up to 31/03/2020 can be view/printed directly from this web site at:-
Annual Report shorten version due to lockdown, can be viewed at :- note the special printed options as document has been prepared via Adobe Reader in booklet layout and reverse printing, if your printer supports this option [To print Annual Report, must have Adobe Reader installed on device, many newer Web Browsers no longer accept Adobe Reader from a web page, therefore before opening, select the download option, then option to view document]

AGM – May is always the time when councillors decide positions to be held in the coming year, with newer councillors moving forward. This month Mandy French is taking the Chairman’s position, with Colin Golding helping as Vice Chair. A vote of thanks was given to Colin who has played a major role over the past eight years, together with Linda Golding in obtaining all the grants our village has received for refurbishment of the village hall, kitchen, roof and to come the new netball area in 2020, and helping to fight the West of Braintree Garden Village proposed by Braintree District Council. Rob Short has now taken position of Village Hall Representative, with Sam Batt for Transport. Full list at:-
